1. Freezing the Gum

What you need-
- Ice cubes or a Ziplock Pouch
- Blunt / Butter Knife
- Liquid Soap
How to Remove it
- There are two methods, If you have Ice Keep all the ice on the fabric where the chewing gum is stuck.
- If you have a ziplock bag, fold your garment in a way to expose the gum on the upper fold. Keep it indie the ziplock and refrigerate it for 2 hours.
- Let it remain for a while. After which it the chewing gum will harden.
- Slowly scrape off the hard chewing gum using a blunt butter knife. Sharp Knife can spoil the fabric. Make sure you do it quickly before the gum starts thawing.
- Refreeze it if it thaws or doesn’t get completely removed.
- Apply Liquid soap all over it and wash it in the machine.
2. Boiling the Gum

What you Need
- A pot of hot boiling water or a steaming kettle
- Blunt / Butter Knife
- A toothbrush
- Liquid Soap
How to Remove
- Dip the area of the fabric with chewing gum on it, or hold it over the steam vent of the kettle.
- Make sure the water is boiling hot.
- Let it stay in the water for 2 minutes.
- Scrape off the loose chewing gum in one direction using a butter knife.
- Use a toothbrush to apply liquid soap to it and rub it while it is still dipped in water.
- Wash the garment like normally in the machine.
3. Rubbing Alcohol

It acts as a perfect chewing gum remover from light fabrics etc.
What Do You Need
- Rubbing alcohol
- Sponge
- Blunt or Butter Knife
- Liquid Soap / Conditioner
How To Remove
- Add a little bit of rubbing alcohol on a fresh piece of sponge.
- Rub the sponge on the chewing gum area of the garment.
- Not use a blunt knife and slowly try to take it off. Rubbing alcohol will make it easy to remove than normal.
- Add fabric softener in the machine and give it a nice tumble wash.
- Dry and see the amazing results.
4. Ironing the Gum out

One of the best homemade chewing gum remover is an iron and a piece of cardboard. Th9is method though effective cannot be used on silk fabric or synthetics. This is only a suitable gum remover from clothes that are purely cotton. Cotton can withstand the high temperature of the iron. Make sure you do not burn out your dress. If it is delicate do not use this method to remove chewing gum from clothes.
What You Will Need
- Iron
- Cardboard piece
How To Remove
- Set the iron to medium hot or according to the fabric.
- Place the cardboard and keep the garment in a way that the gum is between cloth and cardboard.
- Place the iron over the back of chewing gum.
- The chewing gum will slowly stick to the card board and be removed from the fabric.
- Remove any left overs with a brush.
- Wash the garment in the machine and leave to dry.
5. Use Vinegar

What You Will Need
- Vinegar
- Brush or Blunt / Butter Knife
- Access to microwave for heating vinegar.
How To Remove
- Heat up vinegar in a microwave, it should be Hot and not warm.
- Spread this hot vinegar on the gum area.
- While the vinegar is still hot use a brush to slowly brush it off.
- The gum will come off. Just make sure the vinegar is hot.
- You can wash the garment after that.
6. Liquid Soap

What You Will Need
- Liquid Soap
- Brush or Blunt / Butter Knife
- Warm water
How To Remove
- Apply a good amount of liquid soap on the garment where the chewing gum is stuck.
- Use a brush and slowly brush it off to one side.
- You can use a tweezers or fingernails to remove any tiniest particles of stuck over gum.
- Wash it with warm water to clean it completely.
7. Hairspray Method

- Hairspray
- Butter knife

- Spray a good amount on all the faces of the chewing gum on fabric.

8. Peanut Butter

What You Will Need
- Peanut butter
- Blunt / Butter Knife

- Apply a good amount of peanut butter all over the chewing gum stuck on the garment.
- Leave it on for 5 minutes
- Slowly scrape it off with a blunt knife
- The gum will knead away easily after reacting with the peanut butter.
- Wash it normally with soap.
- You can use talcum powder to remove grease stains if at all they are left behind.
